The principals of DocuWeb have over 50 years of computing experience, including half of that in networked environments. They also have experience amounting to over 25 years in electronic document preparation and handling. They have been actively using the Internet for almost 20 years, were involved with the World Wide Web almost from its inception, and are extensively experienced in Web and Internet technology. DocuWeb is therefore uniquely placed to offer its expertise to businesses.
Some of the recent projects undertaken by DocuWeb are:
- Design and implementation of an on-line Application for Admission system for the Ottawa-Carleton Institute for Civil Engineering. This is a system of about on-line forms with checkpoint/restart capability and with privacy assured.
- Design and implementation (with Trican Multimedia) of a number of text book web sites for McGraw-Hill US. These sites have a number of interactive components, including databases of essay questions, discussion areas, and tutorial quizzes. See:
- Design and implementation for an on-line information system for the Canadian Association for Earthquake Engineering. This uses web forms so that members and associates may update and query a database of research personnel and research project descriptions.
- The Quake Server. An extremely simple interface between a server of recent earthquakes provide by the USGS and the map server at Xerox PARC, it was developed in response to the Northridge Earthquake of 1994. This page is listed in the Point Top 5% Reviews.
- The Engineering Case Library. A series of case studies for engineering education, this service is implemented via a custom database of case abstracts, with many of the HTML documents being dynamically generated via CGI scripts.
- The CSCE Directory of Commercial Software for Civil Engineers. This is an on-line version of a succesful print publication, with value added through searching facilities and links to corporate internet services.
- Design of Design Standards Document Server.
- The Tutorial Gateway. A set of CGI scripts to make easier the web-based delivery of question-and-answer tutorials for computer aided instruction.
- Porting and implementation of, and training in, Internet Information servers for the Government of Canada (Department of Agriculture).
- Translation of documents from Framemaker format to HTML for the Government of Canada (Department of Agriculture).
- Internet training courses for professional organizations.
