DocuWeb.Ca provides this information to assist our clients who have a requirement to access their e-mail account using multiple internet connection providers (e.g. while traveling ) or wish to access their DocuWeb provided e-mail account from home for example. It also simplifies (or eliminates) the reconfiguration necessary when you change Internet Providers.
General information
POP3 Server: mail.DocuWeb.ca
SMTP Server: mail.DocuWeb.ca
SMTP Authentication: using POP3 account name and password
Microsoft Outlook
The screen shots shown here are from Microsoft Outlook 2000. Outlook 98, 97 and Outlook Express are similar.
Step 1
Start Outlook. From the menu line select Tools then Accounts.

Step 2
Once Accounts have been selected the 'Internet Accounts' dialog box will appear. Select the account you use for DocuWeb Mail and press Properties.

The Properties dialog box will appear. Select the Servers tab and check the 'My server requires authentication in the Outgoing Mail Server section

Once checked the 'Settings' button will appear. Select the 'Settings' button.
Systems without Norton AntiVirus
Select 'Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Systems with Norton AntiVirus
You must select 'Log on using', as shown below, and enter your normal Account name and Password. It is recommended that 'Remember password' is checked so that you do not have to enter your password each time you send mail.

Step 5
Shut down and restart Outlook for changes to be implemented.
Please Note: With this enabled it takes a longer period to contact the mail sending server due to verification of password etc. This is normal and does not affect your sending of mail.
Netscape Communicator
Step 1
Start Netscape. From the menu line select Edit then Preferences.
Step 2
Once Preferences have been selected the 'Preferences' dialog box will appear. Select 'Mail & Newsgroups' then 'Mail Servers' from the left hand column. The 'Mail Servers' information will appear on the right hand side. Change the 'Outgoing mail (SMTP) server' to mail.DocuWeb.ca
Then select the appropriate 'Incoming Mail Servers' and press Edit.
Step 3
The Mail Server Properties dialog box will appear. Under the 'General' tab change the server name to mail.DocuWeb.ca. Select the 'POP' tab.
Step 4
On the 'POP' tab ensure that 'Leave messages on server' is unchecked. Press OK.
Shut down Netscape and then restart before using Netscape.
